With Valentines Day less than a month away, it's time I start thinking about my kids class parties and valentines for their classmates. Well maybe I should have been thinking about it before Thanksgiving since thats how holidays seem to play out now, but it is what it is. It is no secret, that I generally take the easy way out (aka Target) but there is something to be said for the cute DIY Valentines you see flooding your Pinterest feeds. While I do have my PawPatrol Play Packs on standby just in case, I think I may actually attempt something semi homemade this year. Even if I do it for one out of my four kids, that works right? Three Photography Rules I Choose to Break
Happy Tuesday! This three-day weekend gave me quite the runaround, and I feel like my week is all jumbled up... like how this post was supposed to be published yesterday, but that's beside the point. #momfail. Anyway, today I'm talking about three mom-tographer "rules" that I choose to break on a daily basis, and sharing the three things that I embrace as a photographer. Posed photos, "golden hour" rule, and timidness are all being axed; I'm rebelling like a teenager, and I don't hate it. Posed photos are overrated. When it comes to photographing my three year old, posed photos are overrated. Instead, I choose to tell ... READ MORE >>

Let Them Be Little
Being a parent is tough. Everyone knows that. It's also one giant game of watch mommy contradict herself. "Don't yell, use your inside voice"..... Oh you just colored on mommy's white couch?! Inside voice not so much. "Don't hit your sister"..... If you do that one more time, mommy is going to get the spanking spoon. " You should know better, you are THIRTEEN YEARS OLD"..... Focus on being a kid. You are ONLY thirteen years old. Sounds familiar doesn't it? As I mom, I struggle with lots of things but quite possibly the hardest of them all is knowing the difference of when to prepare ... READ MORE >>
What to Do Before Returning to Work After Maternity Leave
Well, it's once again Monday, but for the past two months, my Mondays have been anything but typical. My maternity leave has no concrete schedule, and even as I'm finally getting used to that, it's all about to change. I go back to work full-time in just five weeks. I've been so incredibly fortunate to have such a long leave. I know last those five weeks are going to fly by, so I'm starting to get prepared now for the transition back to work. Thankfully, this isn't my first time handling this, so I know exactly what to expect, and I'm preparing myself and my family in advance. Try to get on a loose schedule. This doesn't ... READ MORE >>
