For those of you that watched our vlog yesterday, you know we talked a little about what it meant to be a real friend.
Or, perhaps you were too distracted by my {awesome} hair accessory to notice what I was saying, but whatever.
We talked about friendship and how to cultivate deep and authentic friendships and today I want to touch a little more on that.
Or really, I want to brag on the awesome and authentic friendship that I have with this gal….
That’s right, this little post is dedicated to Channing.
Channing and I met at church camp when we were 15 years old. Well, I was probably 16 because as she likes to remind me, I am so much older than her.
To be honest, I am not even sure how we started talking, I just know it was effortless and easy to be friends.
And over the years, our friendship has survived A LOT.
Marriage, babies, divorce, single parenting, health scares, second chances at love, more babies….
Trust me when I say, that Channing is the epitome of a TRUE FRIEND.
She is always there when I need her. Even when I won’t admit that I do.
She tells me the hard stuff that I need to hear.
She keeps me accountable.
And as cheesy as it may be, she makes me better.
She pushes me to challenge myself.
To dream big.
Without her, we wouldn’t be here on this little space of the web today.
She believed in us.
And in me, just like she always does.
And because she rocked it solo last week while my family and I went to Disney, I just wanted to publicly thank her for the awesome friend that she is.
Channing, my flend, you are one of the best people that I know. I am so very fortunate that I get to call you friend. Thank you for challenging me and believing in me and showing me grace and love. I would be lost without you. Thank you for pushing us to take this giant step in starting this space. Thank you for dreaming big alongside me. It is crazy to think that we will be celebrating our first event in just a few short hours. We have accomplished a lot in such a short amount of time and that is in large part to you. Thank you for just being you! I love you flend.

And you two ladies remind me of me and my best friend. Thank God for friends and thank heavens for Friends. I really wish that reunion was a reality. 😉 Cant wait to meet y’all tonight at your Mom’s Night Out! It’s my first MNO ever. So excited and just can’t hide it. 🙂
