I dub today Confession Wednesday!
Confession: I am full of mommy guilt. Yep, full of it almost everyday. And you know what…this world we live in does not make it easier.
I am not sure if you have noticed but we are no longer just moms. Nope, we can be a Authoritative, Authoritarian, Permissive or even a Dismissive Mom. You could have chosen to be an attachment parenting mom or you could be a mom that followed the Babywise techniques. You could be a spanker or a non-spanker, you could be breastfeeding or formula feeding mom and the list goes on and on.
Form the time we know our little ones are coming we read every parenting book we can get our hands on, we poll other mommy friends to see what works for them, we pick apart what our parents did right and what they did wrong and then we put all of that pressure on our own shoulders to make sure that we are the best mom EVER.
But you know what? Even the best moms out there are not perfect moms.
And you know what else….even the best mom out there has not raised a perfect kid no matter what type of mom they were.
For me, I 100% believe that as long as I am being the mom God has called me to be and not the mom that worries that I am doing everything perfectly then everything is going to be alright.
With that, here is to setting that mommy guilt aside and focusing on just loving on these kiddos of ours.
Today I will do just that, I will stop beating myself up for what expectation (you know the one I set for myself) that I did not reach and focus on the accomplishments that were made.
So, join me won’t ya?
And remember if all else fails just eat some dessert because…..
