Dear Kindergarten Mom,
Good morning!
Let me be the first to congratulate you on getting here. I am sure you probably stayed up all night running this morning’s events through your head.
You checked everything off your list at least 3 times to make sure you have it all covered. You have thought over and over about how drop off will go. You have questioned every parenting decision you have made up until this point and just pray that your little one is ready to go.
Sweet Momma, let me give you some words of comfort from a Mom who has been there.
You have done a wonderful job and I promise everything will be ok.
Trust me, I know how you feel. I have been right where you are. I was the mom blubbering down the hallway while my husband led me to the car.
What if she needs me? What if she doesn’t make friends? What if she gets scared? What if, what it, what if?
The ache in this Mommas heart of having to let go even if just a little was almost too much to bear. Why do they have to get older? It’s really just not fair.
But we made it. We made it through the first day and eventually we made it through the entire year.
I know today is going to be tough. Anytime we have to watch our babies step into the world a little more without us, it’s tough. This whole parenting thing is tough!
But I promise, you can do it!
Allow yourself to take it all in.
Take as many pictures as you need, walk with them as slowly down the hallway you need to, grab as many extra hugs as you need and remind yourself that you BOTH can do this.
We will be praying for you today. We will pray for your Momma heart that is having to let go a little today. We pray for excitement to overtake worry and for comfort to overtake fear.
We will pray that your little one has a day full of awesomeness and that they are bursting at the seems to tell you all of the great things that happened today.
You have done a wonderful job, Mom!
Now, take it all in and enjoy the ride!
