These boys. These 2 beautiful boys are 2 of the most outgoing, loving, rambunctious, fun, sweet, smart, athletic, special boys you will ever meet. These 2 boys are sons, brothers, grandsons, nephews, cousins and friends.
Caden and Evan are the precious sons of my cousin Nathan and his wife Melody and they bring so much joy to our family.
And, they have Cystic Fibrosis or 65 Red Roses as so many children with CF call it.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Around 30,000 individuals in the United States and 70,000 world wide have Cystic Fibrosis.
With CF cells are folded, causing all of the mucous in the body to be thick and have an adverse, life-threatening affect on all organs. Since 1950 many strides have been made in the treatment and understanding of Cystic Fibrosis we are so grateful for this progress with improvements in the length and quality of life for those with CF.
If you were to meet Caden and Evan you would never know that they suffer from a genetic disease. These boys live full lives but without continued research we will not have a cure.
The month of May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness month. Our goal is to inform others about this life threatening disease that affects so many around the globe.
