It’s Friday and you know what that means…It’s time for another 5 on Friday.
You guys, we have actually made it 3 weeks which means this is kind of actually a series. What, what!
In keeping with our Back to School theme this week we are going to share with you what all Mom’s are thinking but won’t admit to feeling…
5 Reasons We are Glad Our Kids are Going Back to School! Yep, we said it.
We have loved this summer with our kiddos but no matter how much love you have for someone you get to that fork in the road where you know it’s time for everyone to take a break (go back to school) or things will not be pleasant any longer.
Moms whose kids are bouncing off of walls and losing their minds please stand up!
Let us all rejoice, school is almost here!
We get to eat lunch WITHOUT Sharing:
Mom’s just think about it… you are sitting at your desk or at home or at lunch with a girlfriend, your food comes all warm and delicious looking ready for you to dive right into all of it’s yumminess and guess what? You get to eat it!
You do not have to cut up someone elses food, argue over why this is what is for lunch or even share a bite of your own food. You just get to eat it.
Take it all in and savor every bite!
Play Dates for Free That you Do NOT Plan:
You know, one of the beauties of school is friends. Man, our kids LOVE being with their friends and we LOVE their friends AND, when they are in school it is like one big friend day all year round.
Yes, we know learning is of most importance but when they ask over and over again to see their friend Little Johnny again. You get to make their little dreams come true and say tomorrow sweet heart, you will get to see them tomorrow.
And guess what? They get to see them at school. Not at your house that you just cleaned, AT school!
Bonus: Your house may stay clean for more than 2 minutes. Congrats!
Worn Out Kiddos
MOMS!! You know you love this one…worn out kids! Every year after the first few days of school it is the best. They get in the car all excited talking 90 miles an hour telling you of all of the exciting things that happened then all of a sudden, it stops. You look back to see what is going on and they are WIPED OUT!
And by wiped out, I mean out cold. There is no waking this child up.
You take them home lay them on the couch and look at those sweet little faces and think about how much you missed them today.
Then you look at your clean house and snap back to reality!
“What are we doing today?”
“What are we doing today? What are we doing today? I have not been entertained for 2 minutes, what are we doing today?” (This is all one whiney sentence from your child or mine really but I am sure you have heard something similar.)
Best thing about school starting? Not having to answer….What are we doing today?
It’s like a parrot with a broken record.
If I get asked one. more. time. what we are doing today you will see feathers flying!
You are going to school today and THAT is what you are doing today! Don’t forget, Mommy will miss you!
Structure, please give us some structure!
Oh the gloriousness of structure!
Moms, you know what I am saying.
I love summer and I love the relaxed nature that summer brings but too much of a good thing and it can make you crazy.
Not only am I craving the structure of school but the kids are as well. They would never let you know this but trust me, they do.
Structure, how I have been craving you. Welcome back to our lives!
And there you have it, 5 Reasons Why We are Glad Our Kids are Going Back to School! Now, just hang around for a good few months and you will get a post on 5 Reasons Why We are Ready for it to be Summer again.
